BJP leader and former Wrestling Federation of India (WFI) president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has launched a major attack on the Congress over the allegations of sexual harassment leveled by female wrestlers. Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh has claimed that the allegations of sexual harassment against him were a conspiracy of the Congress.

Conspiracy of Congress and Hooda

Speaking at a gathering in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that when the allegations were leveled against him, he had said that it was a conspiracy of the Congress party. He said- "I said that this is a conspiracy of the Congress, Deepender Hooda and Bhupendra Hooda. I have said this before, today the country is saying this. Now I do not need to say anything about it."

Six wrestlers had leveled allegations of sexual harassment against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh. Based on their complaints, the Delhi Police filed an FIR against the former Kaiserganj MP after the Supreme Court's intervention in May 2023. On May 21, the trial court framed several charges against Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, including sexual harassment, intimidation, and outraging the dignity of women. The court also charged co-accused and former WFI assistant secretary Vinod Tomar with criminal intimidation.
