New Delhi. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) of Delhi Police has filed an FIR against SpiceJet's Managing Director Ajay Singh and four other officials. They are accused of not depositing the 12 percent amount deducted from the Provident Fund (PF) of the employees in their PF accounts. This amount is about Rs 65 crore.

This case has been registered based on a complaint filed by EPFO. SpiceJet is accused of deducting 12 percent of PF from the salary of employees between June 2022 and July 2024, which was to be deposited by August 15, 2024. But the company did not deposit it.

In the FIR, the company's MD Ajay Singh, Director Shivani Singh, Independent Director Anurag Bhargava, and two other officials have been held responsible for this. It is alleged that the company did not deposit the amount deducted from its more than 10,000 employees in the EPFO, which is a violation of the law.
