This case is from Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh. In 2018, a student named Amit Kumar was admitted to MBBS in Motilal Nehru Medical College based on fake documents. He also started studying medicine. Amit Kumar was a resident of Ibrahimpur village of Gopiganj in Bhadohi. Meanwhile, Vijay Bahadur Singh of Gopiganj filed a complaint regarding Amit Kumar's caste, after which the investigation of this matter started. In the investigation, Amit Kumar's fraud came to light and a case was registered against him.

Admission got cancelled
Motilal Nehru Medical College cancelled Amit Kumar's admission after the truth came out. Actually, Amit Kumar had been admitted to the medical college by getting a fake Scheduled Caste certificate made. He had mentioned himself as belonging to the Khatik caste in his certificate. When it was investigated, the truth came out. After the FIR, the college took action of expulsion.

Now it is 7 years of imprisonment.
It is not that the matter stopped after Amit Kumar's expulsion, rather the case in this regard continued in the court of the Chief Magistrate. During the hearing, it also came to light that Amit Kumar had got an OBC certificate made to get admission to Navodaya Vidyalaya and on this basis, he was admitted to Navodaya Vidyalaya. After hearing both the cases, the court has convicted Amit Kumar and sentenced him to seven years of imprisonment. Apart from this, a fine of 11 thousand rupees has also been imposed.
