Gaya SSP Ashish Bharti said that he had planned to kill his wife along with criminals because he had an illicit relationship with his sister-in-law. This plan was made to murder during a robbery so that the police could be saved. SSP said that the plan was made with the criminals two-three months before the murder.

SSP said that the incident happened on the night of 10th December. When both husband and wife were returning home from the market in Bodhi Bigha area, unknown criminals shot the woman during robbery. When the police started the investigation, the deceased's husband Pankaj Kumar was first suspected. When Pankaj Kumar was interrogated strictly, he confessed to all the atrocities.

According to SSP, Akash Kumar was arrested from Aurangabad on the information given by the accused husband. A pistol and two live cartridges were also recovered from him. Also, after interrogation, Suraj Kumar and Ramraj Kumar, who were involved in this, were also arrested. SSP said that two-three months before her death, the deceased was also insured for Rs 5 lakh each.
