Indian Hockey Team Grand Welcome: The Indian hockey team, which won the bronze medal by performing brilliantly in the Paris Olympics 2024 and has now returned to its homeland from Paris. The team landed at Delhi airport on Saturday morning. As soon as the players came out of the airport, thousands of fans waited for them with bated breath. They were shouting slogans of Bharat Zindabad and Sachpanch Sahab, which are the names of which were given to captain Harmanpreet Singh. Seeing this, the captain and all the teammates also looked very happy.

The Indian hockey team has achieved a remarkable feat not seen in the last fifty years. By winning 2-1 against Spain at the Paris 2024 Olympics, India not only won the bronze medal in men's hockey but also secured a place on the Olympic podium for the first time since 1972. This is going to be extremely important for the growth of the sport across the country.

Harmanpreet Singh made a promise to the fans

Indian hockey team captain Harmanpreet Singh said on returning home that "A medal is a medal and winning it for the country is a big deal. We tried to reach the final and win gold, but unfortunately, our dream was not fulfilled. But, we have not returned empty-handed, winning medals continuously is a record in itself. The love we have received is a big deal. It was an emotional moment for him (PR Sreejesh) as he was playing his last match. He has retired, but he will be with us. I thank the Government of India, Sports Authority of India, and Odisha Government for their support. The love we are getting doubles our responsibility, whenever we play, we will try to win a medal for the country."

This historic feat comes after their dramatic comeback at the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, where they came from 1-3 down to win the match 5-4 to finish third. This feat is the first time since the 1968 and 1972 Games that India has achieved such success at two consecutive Olympics.
