New Delhi. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday (29 November) unveiled a brand new jersey for ODIs. The new ODI jersey designed by Adidas has the tricolour on the shoulder strap. BCCI Secretary Jay Shah and senior women's cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur inaugurated the new jersey at an event in Mumbai.
Harmanpreet represented the new jersey named 'Harman', which had her number 23 written on the back. She signed the new ODI jersey and shared her thoughts on the new design. "It is an honour to inaugurate the new jersey today and I am very happy that we are the first players to wear it against the West Indies team," Harmanpreet Kaur said in a video posted by BCCI on X. “Really very happy, I like the look of it, the new colours are making it beautiful.”
Harman further said, "Wearing a jersey is always a special moment for anyone. It takes a lot of hard work to wear it, so hopefully Indian fans will feel proud wearing this jersey." Let us tell you that the Indian women's team led by Harmanpreet Kaur will be the first team to wear the new jersey. India is going to tour Australia for three ODIs starting in Brisbane from December 5.
India will then host West Indies in a six-match white-ball series starting in Navi Mumbai on December 15. Harmanpreet confirmed that they will wear the new jersey for the first time against West Indies, so the team will wear the previous jersey for the last time on the Australia tour. The men's senior team will wear the new jersey in the three-match ODI series against England starting in Nagpur fonFebruary 6.
