Dubai: The India vs New Zealand ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium started with another toss defeat for Rohit Sharma’s team. New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat first in the high-stakes final.
This marks India’s 15th consecutive toss loss in ODIs, with 12 under Rohit Sharma’s captaincy and three under KL Rahul’s leadership. Notably, India has remained unbeaten throughout the tournament, despite losing all four tosses at their fixed venue in Dubai.
With this, Rohit Sharma has now equaled the record for most consecutive toss defeats (12) in ODIs, a record previously held by West Indies legend Brian Lara between October 1998 and May 1999.
