
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced the cancellation of board exams scheduled for February 24 in Prayagraj due to the ongoing Maha Kumbh. The exams will now be held on March 9, 2025, after the conclusion of the grand religious event.
The decision was taken in anticipation of massive crowds on February 26, when devotees will gather for the Mahashivratri Snan at the Triveni Sangam.
Maha Kumbh and Its Impact on Prayagraj
The Maha Kumbh 2025, which began on January 13, is set to conclude on February 26. So far, over 50 crore devotees have participated in the holy dip at Triveni Sangam, according to government reports.
With an unprecedented number of pilgrims expected, authorities decided that conducting board exams in Prayagraj on February 24 would not be feasible.

The board exams will continue as per schedule in the remaining 74 districts of Uttar Pradesh.

The Joint Secretary of the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Department, Ashok Kumar, issued the official orders regarding the rescheduling.
With the Maha Kumbh being a once-in-a-lifetime spiritual gathering, authorities have prioritized public safety and logistics, ensuring that both devotees and students face minimal inconvenience.
