Kolkata. The Special Task Force (STF) team of West Bengal Police on Saturday arrested a Pakistani trained terrorist based on secret information. This terrorist has been identified as Javed Munshi, who was caught near the India-Bangladesh border in Canning area of ​​​​South 24 Parganas. It is being told that Javed Munshi had come to Canning area a few days ago and was trying to escape to Bangladesh on the instructions of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

Javed Munshi is a well-known IED expert and arms handler associated with the banned terror group Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen (TuM). Munshi has a long history of involvement in terrorist activities, including alleged participation in the murder of Ahl-e-Hadis leader Shaukat Shah in 2011. He has also been jailed several times on terrorism-related charges.

 

In preliminary interrogation, he has admitted that he has visited Bangladesh, Nepal and Pakistan several times on fake Pakistani passports on the instructions of his handlers. He is also wanted by the Jammu and Kashmir Police. The arrested terrorist has been handed over to the Jammu and Kashmir Police, which will take him back to Kashmir on transit remand for further investigation. This operation shows that the West Bengal Police is working on high alert mode to secure the state's borders and prevent potential threats to national security.
