When the moon rises completely at night, kheer is made and kept in the open, so that the rays of the moon fall on it. If you want, you can cover the kheer with a sieve, so that nothing falls in it. According to religious beliefs, drops of nectar rain from the rays of the moon on the night of Sharad Purnima. When it falls on the kheer, it becomes medicinal. Eating it can benefit a person's health.

Lord Krishna performed Maharas with the gopis on the night of Sharad Purnima, due to which it is also called Raas Purnima. According to religious beliefs, on the night of Sharad Purnima, Goddess Lakshmi roams the earth and asks who is awake. For this reason, it is called Kojagari Purnima. Kojagari Puja i.e. the worship of Goddess Lakshmi is done in Nishita Muhurta. At that time, the doors of the house are kept open so that if Goddess Lakshmi passes by your house, she enters it after seeing the house open. Wealth and prosperity will increase with the blessings of Lakshmi. This is described in the story of Kojagari Purnima. On Sharad Purnima, there is the shadow of Bhadra at night and Panchak throughout the day.

Along with Kojagar Purnima, there is also a fast on Wednesday. Ganesh ji is worshipped on Wednesday. He is the first to be worshipped and a symbol of auspiciousness. Spoiled work gets done by his grace. Chanting the mantras of Mercury on Wednesday removes Mercury Dosh.
