Television Actress Files Complaint Against Co-Star for Molestation at Mumbai Holi Party
A 29-year-old television actress has filed a police complaint against her co-star, accusing him of molesting her during a Holi celebration in Mumbai’s western suburbs on Friday. According to the actress, the accused was intoxicated and forcibly applied colour to her despite her repeated objections.
Disturbed by the incident, she immediately approached the police, leading to a case being registered against the accused actor.
Incident Details: What Happened at the Holi Party?
As per reports, the actress attended a Holi party in Mumbai’s western suburbs, where the accused co-actor was also present. In her complaint, she described how the actor, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, tried to apply colour to her against her will.
In her statement to the police, she shared:
“He was trying to put colours on me and other women at the party. I did not want to play Holi with him, so I objected and moved away.”
However, the situation escalated when the actress tried to avoid him.
“I went and hid myself behind the panipuri stall on the terrace, but he followed me and tried to put colour on me. I covered my face, but he forcefully grabbed me, smeared colour on my cheeks, and then told me, ‘I love you and will see who saves you from me.’”
She further alleged that the actor touched her inappropriately while applying colour, leaving her shocked and distressed.
“After this, he touched me inappropriately and put colour on me. I pushed him away. I was mentally shocked and went straight to the washroom.”
Friends Confront the Accused, but He Misbehaves Again
After the actress shared the traumatic experience with her friends, they confronted the accused actor. However, instead of apologizing, he reportedly misbehaved with them as well.
This further added to the tension at the party, prompting the actress to take immediate legal action.
Police Investigation and Charges Filed
Following the complaint, the police have registered an FIR against the accused. Officials confirmed that:
- A legal notice has been issued to the accused actor.
- Statements from other guests at the party are being recorded.
- CCTV footage from the venue is being reviewed as part of the investigation.
The accused has been charged under Section 75(1)(i) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and further legal proceedings are underway.
Legal Action and Ongoing Investigation
The incident has once again raised concerns about women’s safety at public gatherings, even among familiar faces in the entertainment industry. With investigations in progress, authorities are ensuring that the actress receives justice and that appropriate action is taken against the accused actor.
This case highlights the importance of speaking up against harassment and reinforces the need for stronger measures to ensure women’s safety at public events.
