New Delhi.  India has started the T20 series against Bangladesh with a bang. Team India defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets in the first T20 match played in Gwalior. The Indian team is ahead 1-0 in the 3-match series. India made the return of cricket match in Gwalior after 14 years memorable by registering a win. Indian bowlers first bowled out Bangladesh for 127 runs with sharp bowling. After this, based on the excellent performance of the top-order batsmen, Team India easily won the match. The second T20 match will be played on 9 October at Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

Chasing the target of 128 runs set by Bangladesh, the Indian team scored 132 runs for 3 wickets in 11.5 overs. Young opener Abhishek Sharma was out early. Abhishek scored 16 runs in 7 balls before being run out. Sanju Samson was out after scoring 29 runs in 19 balls while captain Suryakumar Yadav played an innings of 29 runs in 14 balls. Hardik Pandya scored an unbeaten 39 runs while Nitish Kumar Reddy returned unbeaten after scoring 16 runs.

Bangladesh's innings ended at 127
Earlier, India bowled out Bangladesh for 127 runs due to the excellent performance of the bowlers led by Arshdeep Singh and Varun Chakraborty. Fast bowler Arshdeep took 3 wickets for 14 runs while leg-spinner Chakraborty, playing his first international match after almost three years, also took 3 wickets for 31 runs. Due to this, the Bangladesh team was reduced to 19.5 overs. Washington Sundar, Mayank Yadav, and Hardik Pandya also took one wicket each. Mehdi Hasan Miraz was the top scorer for Bangladesh by scoring an unbeaten 35 runs. He hit three fours while facing 32 balls. Apart from him, only captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto (27) could cross the 20-run mark.

Tauheed also hit a four on the next ball. Captain Nazmul Hussain Shanto also hit a six in the same over. Chakraborty was playing his first international match after the 2021 T20 World Cup. Debutant fast bowler Mayank bowled his first maiden over in international cricket.

Rishhad Hussain (11) hit a six and a four on consecutive balls of Mayank but got caught by Pandya on Chakravarty's ball. Taskin Ahmed (12) completed the team's century in the 15th over with a four on Sundar but then got run out. Pandya took the wicket of Shariful Islam (00) while Arshdeep dismissed Mustafizur Rahman (01) to end Bangladesh's innings.
