Stocks To Watch Today, Aug 9: Benchmark Sensex and Nifty 50 are expected to rise on the back of positive global cues. At 6:31 am, GIFT Nifty futures were trading 230 points higher at 24,367, indicating a strong opening for Indian stocks. Asian markets remained active, mirroring Wall Street's performance. Nikkei rose 1.58 percent, Kospi gained 1.60 percent, and ASX200 added 0.60 percent.

On the domestic front, foreign institutional investors (FIIs) sold shares worth Rs 2,626.73 crore on August 8, while domestic institutional investors (DIIs) bought shares worth Rs 577.30 crore.

LIC

In Q1FY25, new business premiums grew 26.96 percent to Rs 58,470 crore from Rs 46,052 crore in Q1FY24. Total annual premium equivalent (APE) grew 21.3 percent to Rs 11,560 crore. The net value of the new business (VNB) grew 23.65 percent to Rs 1,610 crore. Net profit grew 9.6 percent to Rs 10,461 crore.

Biocon

The company reported a 550.6 percent jump in profit to Rs 659.7 crore in Q1FY25 from Rs 101.4 crore in Q1FY24. Revenue grew marginally by 0.3 percent to Rs 3,432.9 crore, while other income rose to Rs 1,134.5 crore.

Oil India

Oil India's profit in the first quarter fell 9.1 percent to Rs 1,466.8 crore from Rs 1,613.4 crore. However, revenue excluding excise duty rose 17.7 percent to Rs 5,331.9 crore.

Sobha

Sobha's first-quarter profit fell 49.8 percent to Rs 6.1 crore from Rs 12.05 crore, while revenue fell 29.5 percent to Rs 640.4 crore.

Eimsher Motors

The company's Q1 profit grew 19.9 percent to Rs 1,101.5 crore, up Rs 918.3 crore from the same quarter last year. Revenue grew 10.2 percent to Rs 4,393 crore, up Rs 3,986.4 crore from the same quarter last year. EBITDA grew 14.2 percent to Rs 1,165.4 crore, while margins increased to 26.5 percent from 25.6 percent in the previous year

abb India

In the second quarter of 2024, ABB India reported a 50 percent rise in profit to Rs 443.5 crore from Rs 295.6 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue grew 12.8 percent to Rs 2,830.9 crore. The board has declared an interim profit of Rs 10.66 per share.

SJVN

SJVN Green Energy has commissioned 90 MW Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project, taking the total installed capacity of SJVN to 2,466.50 MW.

Gujarat State Petronet

The company said its profit rose 21.3 percent to Rs 526.5 crore, compared to Rs 434 crore in the same quarter last year. Revenue excluding excise duty rose 15 percent to Rs 4,727 crore.
