Sanju made his international debut in 2015. But he has not got consistent opportunities. He did not get a chance to play in Asia Cup 2023, and ODI World Cup 2023. He was included in the squad for T20 World Cup 2024, but he did not get a chance to play a single match. Despite all this, this batsman has no complaints with the team management or the captain.

Sanju's reaction to not getting consistent opportunities

The 29-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman, who attended a recent event, said that he is not too worried about being out of the team as the team keeps winning consistently. "Whenever they select me, I will go and play. That's it! Ultimately, our team is doing well. I am a person who believes in big goals. I try to take things positively that are in my hands," he said.

The reason for keeping Sanju Samson out of the team is that since 2015, he has had a chance to play only 16 ODIs and 30 T20 Internationals. He has 444 runs in T20 and 510 runs in ODIs. Apart from international cricket, he has played 167 IPL matches in which he has 4,419 runs including 25 half-centuries. He also performed well in IPL 2024. Samson scored 531 runs in 15 matches. Based on this performance, he was selected in the T20 World Cup. It is a different matter that he did not get a chance to play.
