Sambhal. On Sunday, the survey work was started in Shahi Jama Masjid of Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh on the orders of the court. The protesters opposing the survey clashed with the police. Then the violence started. The crowd pelted stones at the police. Bullets were also fired and arson also took place. Three youths died in this violence. The SP's gunner also fell victim to this violence. He is said to be injured. The violent protesters tried to burn vehicles and pelted stones at the police. After this, the police fired tear gas shells and lathi-charged to disperse the crowd. The officer said that the miscreants fired bullets and some pellets also hit the policemen. Deepa Sarai area was the center of violence.

Moradabad Division Commissioner Anjaneya Kumar Singh said in Sambhal that there were two or three groups of miscreants who were continuously firing. The police administration has safely evacuated the team that came for the survey. He said that people of one group of miscreants went to Nakhasa and started pelting stones. The commissioner said that the police administration chased them all away. He said that three people aged between 20 and 25 years have died in this violence. He said that the deceased has been identified as Naeem, a resident of Mohalla Kot Garvi, Bilal, a resident of Sarayatrin, and Noman, a resident of Hayatnagar.

SDM's leg was broken, and SP's PRO shot
Divisional Commissioner said that in this violence, firing, and stone pelting, SP's Public Relations Officer (PRO) has been shot in the leg, while SDM's leg is broken. He said that CO has also been hit by pellets. The commissioner said that the situation is under control now. The commissioner said that two women involved in stone pelting have been caught and about 15 people have been detained and are being questioned. Earlier, an officer had said that 10 people had been detained and an investigation of the violence had been started. He said that some people also tried to set fire to the motorcycles parked on the roadside. Let us tell you that on the orders of the lower court, a survey of Jama Masjid was done on Tuesday, after which there has been tension in Sambhal for the last few days.

The claim of the temple in place of the mosque
A petition has been filed in the local court claiming that at the place where Jama Masjid is located, there was a Harihar temple earlier. According to the administration, under the court order, the advocate commissioner started the survey work for the second time at the disputed site around 7 am and during this time a crowd started gathering at the spot. SP Krishna Kumar Vishnoi said, 'Some miscreants came out from the crowd gathered near the spot and pelted stones at the police team. Police used mild force and fired tear gas shells to bring the situation under control.' The SP said that people will be identified through drones, and CCTV footage. He said that many policemen have been injured in the stone pelting, out of which one or two policemen have been admitted to the hospital. He said that the stone pelters and those who instigated them will be identified and action will be taken against them.

Sambhal Collector Rajendra Persia said that we have detained about 10 people in connection with the stone pelting incident. They are being questioned. DM Persia said that the miscreants were chased away and now strict action will be taken against them. On the stone pelting and arson in Sambhal, the state's Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar said, 'The situation in Sambhal is under control and we are monitoring the situation. All the local police and administration officials are on the spot. Soon the anti-social elements will be identified and strict action will be taken against them.' Videos of youths allegedly pelting stones at the police near the survey site in Sambhal have surfaced.
