New Delhi: The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) inaugurated its new headquarters, Keshav Kunj, in Jhandewalan, Delhi, on Wednesday. The grand ceremony was attended by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda, and several other prominent leaders, marking a major milestone for the parent organization of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

A Grand Symbol of RSS Expansion

Keshav Kunj is an ultra-modern facility built at a cost of ₹150 crore and spans over 5 lakh square feet, making it larger than the BJP headquarters. According to RSS officials, the entire project was funded through public donations, with around 75,000 contributors supporting its construction.

Location: Jhandewalan, Central Delhi
Established in: 1939 (with previous expansions in 1980 and 1982)
Latest Modernization Plan: Initiated in 2016, with the foundation stone laid by Mohan Bhagwat in August of that year

The building’s name, Keshav Kunj, represents the Keshav school of thought, emphasizing the importance of strategic information management.

State-of-the-Art Facilities at Keshav Kunj

The new RSS headquarters has been designed with a blend of Gujarat, Rajasthan, and traditional Indian architectural styles, led by architect Anup Dubey from Gujarat. Security and future expansion possibilities were key considerations in its construction.

Three large auditoriums:

  • Ashok Singhal Auditorium (463 seats)
  • *A 650-person capacity hall
  • *A 250-person conference hall
    Dedicated parking for 270 vehicles

    Five-bed hospital for medical emergencies
    Keshav Pustakalaya (Library) on the 10th floor
    Hanuman temple within the premises

The inauguration event was attended by over 4,000 people, underscoring RSS’s growing influence and organizational expansion.

With its state-of-the-art infrastructure, Keshav Kunj aims to streamline RSS operations, improve coordination, and enhance strategic planning. The modern headquarters will serve as a nerve center for RSS activities, solidifying its role in Indian political and social affairs.
