Lucknow. The Uttar Pradesh government has declared a public holiday in the state on the occasion of 'Navami' on October 11. Taking into account the demand of many organizations, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has taken a decision on the occasion of Navami on Friday. October 11 will be a public holiday except for essential services. Schools, colleges,, and government offices will remain closed. Basic Education Minister Sandeep Singh said that all schools under the Basic Education Department will remain closed across the state.
Actually, due to the confusion regarding Navdurga Ashtami and Mahanavami, the UP government had declared the Mahanavami holiday on Saturday, October 12 in the gazette. However, according to classical calculations, Navami is on October 11. Navami was declared on Saturday because it was Friday. In such a situation, all the eight lakh employees of the state had demanded that the Mahanavami holiday be declared on Friday. Different employee organizations had appealed to the government. Now the government has declared a holiday on the demand of the employees.
The minister wrote on the social media platform 'X', 'Under the leadership and inspiration of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, integrated efforts are being made to empower half the population in the state. On the auspicious occasion of Mahanavami, a holiday will be observed in all the schools under the Basic Education Department in Uttar Pradesh.'
UP residents get 3 days holiday
. There will be a total of three days' holiday in UP. The last three days of this week will be Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Friday has been declared a public holiday. In this way, employees of government departments will be able to enjoy a long weekend amidst the happiness of the festival.
