Mumbai. Former Bollywood star Preity Zinta is very active on social media. She often gives her opinion on issues related to the industry and social concerns. She has appealed to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi government to stop the increasing cases of sexual abuse and rape in the country and has appealed to bring a strict law in the country like Italy. She praised the law made by the Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni government in which a provision has been made that those who commit sexual abuse and rape will be made impotent.

In fact, the government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni in Italy made a law of chemical castration (impotence through medicines) to take strict action against rapists and sexual offenders. In September this year, Italian MPs formed a committee to draft a bill to legalize the use of androgen blocking drugs to take strict action against such criminals, which has now been approved.

Preity Zinta praised this law and called it a great step. She tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government on Instagram and wrote, "What a great step! Hope the Indian government should also do the same. What do you guys think? This kind of crime cannot be tolerated at all."

Netizens are also reacting to Preity Zinta's post. A user wrote, "India really needs to work on zero tolerance, like CM Yogi has done in UP. There is no place for crime and riots. The Government of India also takes similar steps many times. Now the time has come to have zero tolerance for such crimes." A user wrote, "Finally, a punishment that is appropriate according to the magnitude of the crime. Eliminate the problem from its roots. Zero tolerance is not just an option, it is a necessity!"

'The law is fine but it will not stop sexual abuse'

Another user wrote, "I think you are reading too much into chemical castration. It only affects a person's ability to perform sexual activities. They can still be violent. This kind of naïve, stupid and crowd-pleasing attitude towards sexual violence is the reason we have no real preventive measures."
