Neeraj Chopra reaction to getting Silver Medal in the Paris Olympics 2024 : India's champion player Neeraj Chopra has once again brought glory to the country. He has won silver in the javelin throw at the Paris Olympics in 2024. Neeraj, who won the gold medal in the 2021 Tokyo Olympics, came out to defend his title but Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem overtook him and won the gold medal with a throw of 92.27 meters. Neeraj, who was hoping for the gold medal, was not happy with his performance after the match.

Neeraj Chopra's best effort in the meet was 89.45m, marginally better than the 89.34m he had thrown during the qualifying round. However, Chopra fouled five out of six times during the final at a packed stadium in Saint-Denis, Paris, and thus finished second with his only valid attempt.

I am not happy with my performance- Neeraj Chopra

After the match, Neeraj Chopra told ANI, “It was a good throw, but I am not happy with my performance today. My technique and runway were not that good. I was successful in only one throw, in the rest I made a foul. For my second throw, I was confident that I could throw that far too. But in javelin throw, if your run is not that good, you cannot throw very far.'

A big cry for the next Olympics

Neeraj Chopra further mentioned his lack of preparation and frequent injuries. He said - 'The last two or three years have not been so good for me. I always get injured. I worked really hard, but I have to work on my injury (staying injury-free) and technique. I am not doing a lot of throws due to my back injury. But I will work hard in the future and improve my mistakes.'
