BJP to Transform Delhi Under New Government
New Delhi: With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) set to form the government in Delhi, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday assured that the new administration will work towards making the Yamuna River the pride of the capital.
Addressing party workers at the BJP headquarters following the party’s massive victory, PM Modi also announced that the first session of the new Delhi Assembly will include the tabling of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report. He emphasized that strict action will be taken against those found guilty of corruption.
‘We Will Make Every Effort to Serve Mother Yamuna’ – PM Modi
Reiterating his election promise, PM Modi said, “I had pledged during the campaign that the BJP will make the Yamuna River the identity of Delhi. I understand that this is a difficult task that may take time. But no matter how much time and effort it takes, we will remain committed to this goal. With determination, we will serve Mother Yamuna, and she will continue to bless us.”
‘CAG Report to Be Tabled in First Assembly Session’
Speaking on corruption, the Prime Minister assured the public that the government would not spare those involved in financial misconduct. “I guarantee that the CAG report will be presented in the first session of the Delhi Assembly. Those responsible for corruption will face action, and the looted money will be recovered,” he declared.
Focus on Urbanization and Infrastructure Growth
Highlighting the need for modern infrastructure, PM Modi underscored the importance of Delhi as the country’s gateway. He said, “India is moving rapidly towards urbanization. Previous governments treated urbanization as a burden, but I see it as an opportunity. Urbanization can empower the poor and marginalized sections of society.”
‘New Government Will Make Delhi a Modern City’
Reflecting on the BJP’s victory, PM Modi pointed out that, for the first time, the party will govern all parts of Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR). He acknowledged the challenges faced by residents, including poor roads, overflowing garbage, and air pollution.
“The people of Delhi have endured broken roads, garbage piles, overflowing sewers, and polluted air for too long. Now, under the BJP’s leadership, Delhi will witness transformation into a modern city driven by development and progress,” he assured.
