The Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh has come up with a new policy for social media. Under the new policy, if anyone posts objectionable and anti-national posts, strict action will be taken against him. After the approval of the digital media policy, the opposition has started a round of allegations and counter-allegations. Meanwhile, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi surrounded the Yogi government and said that the government has come up with this policy to cover up its failures.

He posted on the social media platform 'X' and wrote, that to cover up his failures, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has started a new scheme. Under this scheme, one can earn up to Rs 8 lakh by falsely praising Baba on social media.

Owaisi further wrote, that if you even legally opposed Baba or his party, you would be declared anti-national and sent to jail. Now the IT cell people will run their houses with your tax money.

SP-Congress also criticized

On the other hand, opposition parties Samajwadi Party (SP) and Congress said that this step of the state government has been taken to suppress freedom of expression. The parties said that the BJP-Yogi government has brought a provision to give lakhs of rupees of public money to those who falsely praise the government and to give jail/life imprisonment to those who raise the problems of the public on social media.
