Neeraj registered a throw of 89.45 and had to settle for second place. Neeraj may have lost to Arshad but the friendship between these two is being discussed once again.

Before the Paris Olympics, when Neeraj came to know that Arshad was struggling to get a new javelin, he made a heartfelt plea. Chopra said, "It is hard to believe that he is struggling to get a new javelin. Given his credentials, this should not be a big issue at all."
