
In a major exam mishap, 21 Urdu medium students appearing for the Maharashtra SSC 2025 board exam at Vimalabai Deshmukh School, Latur, were provided with the wrong English question paper on Saturday, March 2.
The students were mistakenly given First Language English (03) instead of English (17), which is not included in their syllabus. The error left the students distressed, forcing them to wait for three hours at the exam centre while officials worked to rectify the mistake.
What Went Wrong?
- The mix-up occurred due to a clerical error by a new staff member who misinterpreted the colour-coded system used to differentiate question papers.
- SA Koyale, chief of the exam centre, acknowledged the mistake and stated that a report has been sent to the SSC board for further action.

Maharashtra SSC Exams 2025 Schedule & Format
- The Maharashtra SSC 2025 exams are being conducted from February 21 to March 17, 2025.
- Exams follow the traditional pen-and-paper format and are held in two shifts:
- Morning: 11:00 AM – 2:00 PM
- Afternoon: 3:00 PM – 6:00 PM
