New Delhi : Telangana minister and Congress leader Konda Surekha, in her previous statement, blamed BR's leader KT Rama Rao for the divorce of actor Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Naga Chaitanya. She is now facing criticism due to her statement. Konda Surekha is the Environment Minister of Telangana. After the controversy escalated, she said on Thursday, October 3, that her comment was wrong and based on insiders from the film industry.

According to a report by News18 English, Surekha said in the statement, 'Whatever I have said is wrong, but to date, no one knows why Naga Chaitanya and Samantha separated. Has she ever clarified this? Whatever I have said was told by film industry insiders. I may have reacted in anger, but whatever I have said is the truth. I have not hidden anything. I will not spare KTR.'

Samantha and Naga expressed their displeasure over the minister's statement on their personal matter and said that they had divorced with mutual consent. Naga Chaitanya's father Nagarjuna Akkineni has filed a defamation case against Surekha based on her statement. He strongly condemned the minister's statement and said, 'Do not use the personal lives of film stars who stay away from politics to target your opponents.'

Nagarjuna said in the complaint filed inthe  Nampally district of Hyderabad that the Congress leader knew that her statement was false, she deliberately made a false statement to harm the personal, professional, and family reputation of the complainant. Chaitanya also shared a picture of the complaint on his social media platform X.

Meanwhile, KT Rama Rao has sent a legal notice to Surekha. In his notice, KT Rama Rao has demanded that Konda Surekha withdraw her statement and apologize within 24 hours. The former minister claimed that Surekha is using the name of the South film star to further her political agenda.
