He expressed that “making bold choices” is where he wants to put his efforts on rather than trying to copy the first two movies. James Cameron stated, in an excerpt of an interview with Empire Magazine, that Avatar 3: Fire and Ash will be something which he thinks people will not expect. In the interview, he said, “It’s complicated, and we might be in over our heads,” adding that it does seem as if, “That’s not what I signed up for.” He further pointed out that “If no one is making daring decisions, they are really just wasting everyone’s time and spending money.” His assertion is, “All that is definitely not enough to guarantee achievement, but it is essential. Each time one needs to break the mold.”

He also added that people should expect much more from the franchise especially for those moments where fans will be placed to scenarios that are directly opposite to what they are familiar with.

Offering an update on the movie, he claimed that they have some really smart action sequences. “You will enjoy this movie." He also noted that he has now completed “twice the number of shots” at this point in time than he had on movie two “and the films are about the same length,” thus, putting them well ahead of the curve. He said, “We are getting to the stage where we are actually getting good at this.”
