Pranav Adani in Bihar: Adani Group, led by businessman Gautam Adani, is preparing to make a big investment in Bihar. Adani Group will set up a power plant in the state with an investment of Rs 20,000 crore. Apart from this, the group is also expanding cement, food processing and logistics business in the state. Addressing the global investor conference 'Bihar Business Connect' 2024, Pranav Adani, Director of Adani Enterprises Limited, said, the group has already invested Rs 850 crore in three sectors logistics, gas distribution and agricultural logistics in Bihar. We are now going to invest another Rs 2,300 crore in these areas. 

27000 job opportunities directly and indirectly

Pranav Adani said that this investment will increase our warehousing and maintenance capacity. Along with this, our presence in the electric vehicle, city gas distribution (CGD) and compressed biogas (CBG) sector will expand. This will create 27,000 additional direct and indirect job opportunities. Apart from this, Adani Group is planning to invest about Rs 1,000 crore in the development of strategic infrastructure like Gati Shakti Railway Terminal, ICD (Inland Container Depot) and Industrial Warehousing Park in Bihar.

He said, "We are also investing in smart meter manufacturing. Bihar is moving from traditional electricity meters to smart meters, that is why we will invest Rs 2,100 crore in the manufacturing and installation of over 28 lakh smart meters for automatic monitoring of electricity consumption in five cities of Siwan, Gopalganj, Vaishali, Saran and Samastipur. This will create at least 4,000 local jobs in the sector."

He also said that the cement business in the state will be expanded to 10 million tonnes per annum capacity by investing Rs 2,500 crore in various phases in the factories. Adani said, "We are also exploring investment opportunities in the energy sector of Bihar. We plan to invest about Rs 20,000 crore to set up a state-of-the-art power plant (ultra-supercritical thermal power plant)." He said, "We hope that this project will create at least 12,000 jobs during the implementation phase and about 1,500 skilled jobs during the operational phase."
