Bengaluru: Wicketkeeper batsman Ishan Kishan looks doubtful to play in the first round of the Duleep Trophy on Thursday due to a hamstring injury. Kishan has been included in the Shreyas Iyer-led India D which will take on India C in Anantapur in the first round. It is learned that Kishan was injured while playing for Jharkhand in the Buchi Babu Invitational Tournament in Coimbatore recently. There were also talks of including Sanju Samson in his place but it is expected that KS Bharat will keep wicket for India D in the first round. Kishan has not yet reached Anantapur.

Surya and Prasidh Krishna are also out

India A fast bowler Prasidh Krishna is recovering from surgery earlier this year and will also miss the first-round match against India B at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Many key players are not playing in the Duleep Trophy due to injuries. Earlier, Suryakumar Yadav did not play the first-round match due to a hand injury while playing for Mumbai in the Buchi Babu tournament.

Siraj and Umran Malik fell ill

Indian fast bowlers Mohammed Siraj and Umran Malik will also not play in the tournament due to illness, while all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been released by India B but the reason is not known. Fast bowler Navdeep Saini will replace Siraj in India B while Puducherry fast bowler Gaurav Yadav will replace Malik in India C.
