Indian Cricket Team Hong Kong Cricket Sixes Tournament:  India is ready to play in the Hong Kong Cricket Sixes Tournament to be held from 1 to 3 November this year. This tournament started in 1992 and was held in 2017. Now this tournament is going to return after 7 years. India was successful in winning this trophy once in 2005. Apart from this, Team India was runner-up in 1996. Now it is ready to take on teams like Pakistan, Australia, Sri Lanka, and South Africa.

Cricket Hong Kong gave information.

Cricket Hong Kong on Monday confirmed the Indian team's participation in the tournament on its 'X' account. It wrote, “Team India is ready to hit sixes in HK6! There will be a storm of explosive power-hitting and sixes that will leave fans stunned. Expect more teams, more sixes, more excitement, and maximum thrill. HK6 is back from 1 to 3 November 2024.”

These teams will participate.

The 20th edition of the tournament will be played between 12 teams. It will be held at Tin Kwong Road Entertainment Ground. Apart from India, the other teams are Pakistan, Australia, Bangladesh, England, Hong Kong, Nepal, New Zealand, Oman, South Africa, Sri Lanka and United Arab Emirates (UAE). Players like Brian Lara, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Sachin Tendulkar, MS Dhoni, and Anil Kumble have played in the tournament before. India won the tournament in 2005, while England and South Africa are the most successful teams with 5 titles each.

Strange rules of the tournament

Other previous winners of the tournament include Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Australia, and West Indies. The format of the tournament is interesting. Matches are played between two teams of six players each. Each match has a maximum of five overs for each team. Five overs are bowled and each over can be bowled with eight balls instead of six. Every player on the fielding team, except the wicketkeeper, has to bowl one over each. Wides and no-balls award not one but two runs. A batsman has to retire after scoring 31 runs. They can come back to bat at the end only after all the wickets of their team have fallen.
