New Delhi. The Indian women's cricket team has made a comeback in the T20 World Cup 2024. After losing the first match, Team India has kept its hopes of reaching the semi-finals alive by defeating Pakistan by 6 wickets in the second match. In the match played in Dubai, India first stopped Pakistan at 105 runs. After this, Team India achieved the target by losing 4 wickets. Harmanpreet Kaur and company were defeated by New Zealand by 58 runs in the first match. The Indian team still has to play two more matches in the league stage. Team India will take on Sri Lanka on Wednesday (October 09) while it will face Australia on October 13.

Chasing the target of 106 runs set by Pakistan, the Indian team (India Women vs Pakistan Women) scored 108 runs for the loss of 4 wickets in 18.5 overs. Opener Smriti Mandhana was dismissed on a score of 18. Mandhana was caught by Tuba Hasan off Sadia Iqbal for 7 runs. After this, Shefali Verma and Jemima Rodrigues handled the innings. India had scored 50 runs for the loss of one wicket in 10 overs. Shefali was dismissed after scoring 32 runs off 35 balls. Arundhati gave her best performance in T20 International by taking three wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Shreyanka took two wickets for 12 runs in four overs. While Renuka Singh, Deepti Sharma, and Sobhana Asha got one success each. For Pakistan, experienced Nida Dar contributed the most 28 runs. The former captain hit a four in her 34-ball innings. Opener Muniba Ali scored 17 runs in 26 balls with the help of two fours, while in the lower order, Syeda Arub Shah scored an unbeaten 14 runs in 17 balls.

Shreyanka sent Tuba Hasan back to the pavilion without opening her account. Syeda meanwhile hit a four against Deepti. Arundhati bowled Nida in the 20th over but Nashra Sandhu scored an unbeaten six runs with the help of a four on the last two balls to take the team past 100.
