Before his suspension, N Sanjay was serving as the Director General of Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Response and Fire Services. According to the government order, an investigation by the Vigilance and Enforcement Department found that he had committed irregularities in purchasing laptops and iPads and misused government funds by making hasty payments.

Journey from Steel Plant to IPS
Born in a Telugu Christian family in Visakhapatnam's Vizag, Senior IPS N. Sanjay was a passionate singer and sportsman. According to media reports, his desire to do something great in life took him from a simple mechanical supervisor at Vizag Steel Plant to the prestigious IPS post. He worked in the steel plant for about 8 years. He also did a law course from Andhra University, Waltair. He prepared for civil service with the inspiration of his father.

N. Sanjay is a 11996-batchIPS officer. He has held many important positions in Warangal, Nalgonda, Kurnool, Anantapur, Nizamabad, and Hyderabad districts of undivided Andhra Pradesh. Earlier, he was working as the Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh Police Housing Corporation Limited. Last year, during the YSR Congress government, he was working as the CID chief. During this time, he led the investigation in the 'Skill Development Case', in which former Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu was arrested.

After the serious allegations against N Sanjay, his suspension has intensified discussions in administrative circles. This case raises questions on transparency and accountability of government funds.
