New Delhi. India lost to arch-rival Pakistan by six wickets in its opening match of the Hong Kong Sixes Cricket Tournament on Friday (1 November) due to poor performance of the bowlers. Bharat Chipli played a stormy innings of 53 runs in 16 balls before retiring hurt and returning to the pavilion, due to which India scored 119 runs in the stipulated six overs. Indian captain Robin Uthappa also contributed 31 runs in eight balls.
But the Indian bowlers could not perform well. Pakistan's batsmen dominated from the beginning and achieved the target with one over remaining. Asif Ali played an important role in Pakistan's victory. He laid the foundation for victory by scoring 55 runs in 14 balls. Asif Ali retired hurt after scoring a half-century. After this, Muhammad Akhlaq (40 not out in 12 balls) and Faheem Ashraf (22 not out in five balls) took Pakistan to the target.
Pakistan won the toss and decided to field first. Which proved to be beneficial for them. Other batsmen for India like Kedar Jadhav, Manoj Tiwari, and Stuart Binny failed. India has to play its next match against the UAE. This match will be played on 2 November. It will be interesting to see which team wins here. India has played one match so far in which it has lost.
