New Delhi (IIT Placement Process) . It is important for students preparing for the JEE exam to know about the IIT placement process. All IITs including IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Kanpur, IIT BHU, and IIT Roorkee are everyone's first choice because of campus placement. Students who pass with good grades from IIT get jobs with packages of lakhs and crores in top companies in the country and the world.

With the changing times, the IIT placement process has also changed. Now the interest of IT sector companies in IIT campus placement has reduced. But this does not mean that the entire placement process has ended. After passing JEE, admission is given to the country's top engineering institute i.e. IIT based on rank and choice. Then during the 4-year B.Tech course in IIT, you get a job in a company based on your projects, grades, and reports.

How Placement is done in IIT: When does the placement process start in IIT?
The placement season in IIT will start from 1 December 2024. Howevert the first phase of the placement process started in July. This is called onboarding. In this, various companies register themselves for placement in IIT. Then from the second week of July, BTech final year students are given a chance to register. After this, students are given a chance to submit their resume/portfolio by the third week of August.

Pre-Placement Offer: Companies give pre-placement offers.
In the first week of September, the pre-placementt talk i.e. PPT starts in IIT. If a student wants to apply for a job in a particular company, then he can participate in PPT. Most of the companies visit the IIT campus for PPT. After this, time is given to issue pre-placement offers till 15-20 September. Then after the placement period starts in December, the final interview of these students is taken.

Students who are preparing for a job in the placement round after studying at IIT should know the entire process.

1- IIT placement offices appoint a Point of Contact (POC) for companies. The entire communication of placement takes place between them.

2- Candidates who are interested in campus placement can complete the registration process by creating their account on the IIT portal.

3- Recruiters i.e. companies issue jobs and internship notifications on behalf of the placement office. In this step, the executive officers verify the job details.

4- After verification, students can also apply for a job in the company of their choice. Companies also shortlist interested students and check their biodata.

5. After this, the companies in collaboration with the placement office proceed with the status/screening process to finalize the placement drive.

6- Companies coming to IIT for placement can decide the process according to their own convenience. The interview is the final step for everyone.

7- After the job interview round is over, the companies send the list of selected students to the IIT office.

8- Finally, after the finalization of the conversation with the students, the company sends them an offer letter. This gives them a job even before they get their B.Tech degree.
