ICC Test Rankings : Senior Indian batsman Virat Kohli gained two places to be in the eighth position. At the same time, his captain Rohit Sharma lost one place to be in the sixth position in the latest ICC Test rankings released on Wednesday.

Apart from Rohit and Kohli, young Yashasvi Jaiswal is also included in the top 10 in the list of batsmen. He is in seventh place with a gain of one place. England's experienced batsman Joe Root remains at the top of the Test batting rankings after performing well against Sri Lanka in Manchester. England's Harry Brook, who scored 56 and 32 runs at Old Trafford, has reached fourth place with a gain of three places. He left behind Pakistan's Babar Azam, Australia's Steve Smith, and Rohit.

Babar has lost six places and has slipped from joint third to ninth position. He failed in the first Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Pakistan's Mohammad Rizwan has gained seven places to reach joint 10th position due to his century in the first Test, which is the best ranking of his career.

Bangladesh's Mushfiqur Rahim has also gained seven places to reach a career-best 17th ranking. India's experienced off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin tops the bowlers' rankings. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah and left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja remain in third and seventh positions respectively.

England fast bowler Chris Woakes (up four places to 16th) and Sri Lankan fast bowler Asitha Fernando (up 10 places to 17th) have gained in the rankings while Pakistan fast bowler Naseem Shah (up four places to 33rd) and England's Gus Atkinson (up four places to 42nd) have achieved career-best rankings. In the list of all-rounders, Jadeja and Ashwin are in the top two positions while Axar Patel is in sixth position.
