Sharing a 46-second video clip of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata's speech on Instagram, Sarma wrote, 'Didi, how dare you threaten Assam? Don't show us red eyes. Don't even try to burn India with your politics of failure. It does not befit you to speak divisive language.'
What did Mamata Banerjee say?
In the video clip, Mamata Banerjee is stressing that though Bangladesh and her state share the same language and culture, the two are different countries and West Bengal is part of India. Mamata was addressing a gathering on Wednesday on the foundation day of her party's student wing Trinamool Chhatra Parishad.
She alleged that Prime Minister Narendra Modi's party (BJP) is trying to worsen the situation in West Bengal. The Trinamool Congress chief said, 'If Bengal is set on fire, then Assam, Northeast, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Delhi will also be affected. Modi Babu is using his party to set fire here. We will topple your chair.'
