New Delhi. Young players in the Indian cricket team get a lot of respect from the seniors. Experienced batsmen like Virat Kohli help the young players of the team in every possible way. They inspire them to perform well. Yashasvi Jaiswal has reached Australia for the first time in Team India. Yashasvi has stolen the show by playing a brilliant innings on his first Australia tour. Jaiswal scored 161 runs in the second innings of the first Test match of the ongoing series against Australia at Optus Stadium in Perth, while Virat Kohli also scored a brilliant century on the third day. After the day's play was over, when the Indian team was coming out of the field after fielding, Virat pushed Yashasvi, after which the young player did not feel bad.
India has set a difficult target of 534 runs for Australia. By the end of the third day's play, Team India has taken 3 wickets for a score of 12 in Australia's second innings. Australia's team is 522 runs behind the target. When the day's play ended, the Indian team was coming out of the field, then suddenly Kohli pushed Yashasvi Jaiswal forward. Yashasvi also started walking ahead and behind him, and the whole team including Virat started coming out of the ground. It seemed as if Virat was saying that go, today is your day. You lead the team.
India has the upper hand
After setting Australia a record target of 534 runs with the 'much awaited' centuries of Yashasvi Jaiswal and veteran Virat Kohli, India kept the upper hand by reducing the host team to 12 runs for 3 wickets. Jasprit Bumrah (1/2) and Mohammed Siraj (7/1) gave India a great start by giving Australia three blows in 4.2 overs. Bumrah trapped Nathan McSweeney's (00) leg before wicket in the very first over of the innings, after which Siraj got captain Pat Cummins (02) caught by Kohli at slip.
India needs 7 wickets to win.
Bumrah trapped star batsman Marnus Labuschagne (03) leg before wicket on what turned out to be the last ball of the day. At the end of the day's play, opener Usman Khawaja was batting on three runs. Australia now needs 522 runs to win while India needs just seven wickets. Jaiswal once again displayed his talent by scoring 161 runs in his first Test in Australia. Jaiswal, who is going to turn 23 in December, faced 297 balls during his innings and hit 15 fours and three sixes. He shared a record 201-run partnership for the first wicket with Lokesh Rahul (77).
Kohli scored an unbeaten 100 off 143 balls.
When the Indian team was in trouble after Jaiswal was out, 36-year-old Kohli (100 not out, 143 balls, eight fours, two sixes) took charge and scored his first and 30th Test century overall after July 2023. He shared an unbeaten partnership of 89 runs for the sixth wicket with Washington Sundar (29) and 77 runs for the seventh wicket with Nitish Kumar Reddy (38 not out).
