Vinesh Phogat's Reaction to CAS Verdict: The Court of Arbitration has rejected Vinesh Phogat's appeal to jointly award her a silver medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. After this, Vinesh's dream of winning an Olympic medal has been shattered. She has now reacted to this and posted a cryptic post on Instagram. Vinesh has also posted a song whose lyrics say 'Sab kuchh Toyota hi reh gaya'.

The 29-year-old wrestler was disqualified from the showpiece event after she was found to be 100 grams overweight ahead of her gold medal bout in the women's 50kg event against USA's Sarah Hildebrandt. After missing out on the medal, Vinesh posted a picture in which she is seen lying on the mat with her hand on her forehead.

Vinesh missed out on creating history

Earlier, Vinesh defeated Cuba's Yusnelis Guzman Lopez in the semi-finals and became the first Indian woman wrestler to qualify for the final of a wrestling event at the Olympics. She was set to become the second Indian woman wrestler to win an Olympic medal after Sakshi Malik, but the bout did not happen for her.

CAS dismissed the appeal

Despite an appeal to CAS, luck did not favor Vinesh and the decision went against her. In 2016, Vinesh's campaign in Rio ended with a knee injury, following which she had to pull out despite being the top seed. Just when it looked like she would finish on the podium, luck did not favor her.
