The match is being played between India C and India D in the Duleep Trophy. In which a brilliant half-century was seen from the bat of Akshar Patel. Akshar's magic was also seen in bowling. India C captain Rituraj Gaikwad won the toss and decided to bowl first.
His decision proved to be correct and India D lost 8 wickets for just 76 runs. Which India C's fast bowlers Anshul Kamboj (2 wickets for 47 runs) and Vijaykumar Vishak (3 wickets for 19 runs) took advantage of the helpful pitch and dismissed the batsmen of India D.
Batting at number seven, Axar started cautiously and then scored 86 off 118 balls to single-handedly help India D reach 164 in 48.3 overs.
In reply, India C scored 91 runs for four wickets at stumps on the first day and were 73 runs behind India D. After pacer Harshit Rana took two wickets in the first 10 overs, Akshar impressed by dismissing Aryan Juyal (12) and Rajat Patidar (13).
Wicketkeeper-batsman Abhishek Porel (32 not out) performed impressively for India C and was at the crease with Baba Indrajit (14 not out) till stumps. Earlier, left-handed batsman Akshar has impressed with the bat in the red and white ball formats for India in recent times. He hit half a dozen sixes during his innings. He hit three sixes against spinner Manav Sutar.
