AFG vs ZIM: Messing with the umpire is no less than shooting oneself in the foot for the players. In a match against Zimbabwe, the Afghan team's fast bowler protested against the umpire's decision. After which the ICC has now imposed a fine on him. This incident is from the second ODI when pacer Fazalhaq Farooqui was seen protesting against the umpire. Farooqui was not ready to accept the no ball. Due to which the ICC has now imposed a fine on him.

What was the matter?

The second ODI between Afghanistan and Zimbabwe was played in Harare. In the 5th over of Zimbabwe's innings, Farooqi protested against the umpire's decision. The umpire rejected the fast bowler's appeal for LBW against Craig Ervine and he protested against it. DRS is not available in the match, despite this Farooqi signaled for a review for which he was fined 15 percent of his match fee. 

There was no match ban

Farooqi was fined for violating Level 1 of the ICC (International Cricket Council) Code of Conduct. This violation falls under Article 2.8 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and their Support Staff, which relates to expressing disagreement with an umpire's decision during an international match. One demerit point was also added to Farooqi's disciplinary record, which was his first violation in 24 months.

One-sided victory for Afghanistan

Afghanistan registered a one-sided victory against Zimbabwe. The team won the match by 232 runs and has taken a 1-0 lead in the series. Afghanistan batted first and scored 286 runs, in response Zimbabwe's team was reduced to a score of 54.
