New Delhi. Under the restrictions of the fourth phase of the Grade Response Action Plan (GRAP), all classes except the 10th and 12th classes will be run online. Delhi Chief Minister Atishi issued this order on Sunday. She said that under the restrictions of the fourth phase of GRAP, all schools will run online classes till further orders.
In fact, the Center's Air Quality Committee has announced strict pollution control measures for Delhi-NCR under the fourth phase of GRAP, which will come into effect from 8 am on Monday. The fourth phase of GRAP includes a ban on the entry of trucks and a temporary ban on public construction projects.
The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) issued this order when Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) reached the 'severe' category on Sunday. The AQI in Delhi was recorded at 441 at 4 pm, which increased to 457 by 7 pm due to adverse weather.
According to the order, no trucks will be allowed to enter Delhi except those carrying essential commodities or using clean fuel (LNG/CNG/BS-VI diesel/electric).
According to the order, light commercial vehicles registered outside Delhi, except electric vehicles, CNG vehicles, and BS-VI diesel vehicles, will also be under the purview of the ban. According to the order, there will be a temporary ban on all construction activities including highways, roads, flyovers, and other public projects.
The committee said that the option of working from home can be introduced for central government employees. It said that state governments can also decide to close colleges, limit non-essential business activities, and implement odd-even rules for vehicles.
An AQI between zero and 50 is considered 'good', 51 and 100 'satisfactory', 101 and 200 'moderate', 201 and 300 'poor', 301 and 400 'very poor', and 401 and 500 'severe'.
