Mumbai. Actress Swara Bhaskar was furious over the defeat of her husband Fahad Ahmed in the Maharashtra Assembly elections. On Saturday, she vented her anger on the social media platform 'X' and blamed the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Fahad contested the election from Maharashtra's Anushakti Nagar as a candidate of the Sharad Pawar-led NCP faction.

Fahad Ahmed was pitted against Ajit Pawar's NCP candidate Sana Malik. When it came to light that Fahad was trailing by a huge margin of over 3000 votes, Swara went on 'X' and questioned the Election Commission about EVMs and blamed them for Fahad's defeat.

He wrote, “After a stable lead of Sharad Pawar's NCP candidate Fahad Ahmed in Anushakti Nagar Assembly, suddenly in rounds 17-18-19 EVMs with 99% battery charge are opened and BJP-backed NCP-Ajit Pawar candidate takes the lead. How can the battery of a machine used for the whole day be 99% charged? And why do all the machines with 99% charged batteries vote for BJP and its allies?”

Fahad Ahmed also raised similar questions in a video shared on 'X'. Sharing the video, he said, "After round 16 and a stable lead in all rounds.. 99% charged EVM machines were opened and BJP-backed NCP Ajit Pawar's candidate took the lead... This is complete manipulation. We demand the Election Commission to recount rounds 16, 17, 18 and 19."

Swara re-posted the video of her husband Fahadh. After this, she thanked all the people who stood with Fahadh and supported him during the election campaign. She expressed gratitude to many people, including political leader Sanjay Raut.

NCP (Sharad Chandra Pawar) had fielded Fahad Ahmed from the Anushakti Nagar seat. Fahad married Bollywood's outspoken actress Swara Bhaskar on February 16, 2023. The couple has a daughter, whom they have named Rabia. Fahad left the Samajwadi Party and joined the NCP in October this year.

Meanwhile, talking about the work front, actress Swara Bhaskar, who is vocal about any issue, has worked in films like 'Tanu Weds Manu', 'Veere Di Wedding', 'Anarkali of Aarah', 'Raanjhanaa', 'Prem Ratan Dhan Payo'.
