India-China Relations: China is not stopping its activities near the Line of Actual Control (LAC). Recently, senior officials of the Indian Army have analyzed satellite images of the new Chinese base on the northern shore of Pangong Lake. This new base is located near China's Line of Actual Control (LAC). It is being said that it is "different" from any other site so far.
New base and its status
According to India Today's report, this new base is 36 km east of the LAC and about 15 km from the new bridge built by China near Pangong Lake. The construction activities at this Chinese base may be part of China's strategy in which it is trying to increase pressure on areas that were already vacant.
Structure and Function of Base
More than 70 permanent structures are being reported in this new Chinese base. These structures are spread over a large area. These structures have been designed in such a way that the impact of missile attacks can be reduced. According to reports, accommodation has been prepared for the soldiers and porters working here. Each structure can house 6-8 soldiers or up to 10 tonnes of material, which can also include ammunition.
What did the experts say
According to experts, heavy machinery is being used in this village. Such as cranes and other equipment, which indicates construction activities. Several two-story buildings, administrative offices, and cultural centers are also being built here. Apart from this, efforts are also being made to supply electricity and a pumping station is also being constructed. Which will arrange water from the nearby river.
China's dual policy
This construction work near the LAC has once again exposed China's double policy. China can say on this basis that it is developing only civilian facilities, but it is clear that it is also being prepared for military use.
India is ready for every situation.
India's stand is also clear. India has also accelerated the development of infrastructure on its borders to deal with this situation. Under the 'Vibrant Village Program', India is allocating a budget of Rs 4,800 crore between 2022 and 2026, which focuses on the overall development of the villages of the northern border. Under this program, India will provide development on the borders as well as employment opportunities for the local people. This move is being seen as a long-term strategy in response to China's activities.
