New Delhi. On the strength of Harry Brook's triple century and Joe Root's double century, England has tightened its grip in the Multan Test. Both batsmen thrashed the Pakistani bowlers. Brook scored the first triple century of his career while Root also set many records by scoring a double century. England declared their first innings on 823 runs on the fourth day of this Test. England has scored 800 plus in a Test for the third time. England is the only team in the world to achieve this feat. On the other hand, Pakistani bowlers made a shameful record with their bowling. Pakistan tried 7 bowlers, out of which 6 conceded more than 100 runs. These six bowlers conceded a total of 796 runs. This is the second time in the history of Test cricket that six batsmen of a team conceded more than 100 runs.

The England team (PAK vs ENG), which entered the Test with the 'Badgeball' formula, scored a record 823 runs in 150 overs. During this, its run rate was 5.48. This is the second time in Tests that six bowlers of a team have conceded more than 100 runs. In the Test match played against Sri Lanka in Bulawayo in 2004, six Zimbabwean bowlers conceded 100 or more runs. Now the names of Pakistani bowlers have also been added to this unwanted record.

A total of 1379 runs were made by both teams in the first innings.
This is the third-highest score made by both teams in the first innings in the history of Test cricket. In this Test match, both teams made a total of 1379 runs in the first innings. Pakistan made 556 runs in the first innings whereas England declared their first innings at 823 runs. The highest runs scored by both teams in the first innings of any Test is 1489. This run was made in the India vs Sri Lanka Colombo Test in 1997, whereas in 2009, in the first innings of the Pakistan vs Sri Lanka Karachi Test match, both teams together scored 1409 runs.

6 bowlers conceded 100 plus runs
