Omkar is the younger brother of former Indian cricketer Avishkar Salvi. He played the only List A match for Railways in 2005. He has a contract with the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) till March 2025. RCB, which has been participating in the tournament since its first season in 2008, has not won the IPL title even once.
