Vinesh Phogat Case Updates: Indian female wrestler Vinesh Phogat's medal case is currently going on in the Court of Arbitration for Sports ( CAS ), the hearing has been completed and the decision can come at any time. India has demanded a silver medal for Vinesh because she was disqualified just before the final due to being just 100 grams overweight and even her request for some time was outright rejected by the officials. After this, Vinesh was relegated to the last position without ranking. Now such a decision has come in a similar case in CAS, which has increased Vinesh's hopes of a medal.

The case is related to the Olympic gymnastics competition where Romanian gymnast Ana Barbosu appealed that the decision of American gymnast Jordan Chiles in the gymnastics floor exercise medal match was changed after the 1-minute score deadline. Hurt by this, Romania knocked on the door of CAS and the decision went in Romania's favor.

Following the CAS decision, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) issued a statement saying, "The IOC will transfer the bronze medal from Jordan (USA) to Ana Barbosu (Romania). We are in touch with the Romanian NOC to discuss how the medal can be returned to their athlete during a relocation ceremony."

It is worth mentioning that in this match, the Romanian player had scored 13.700 points. Whereas Jordan Chiles of America had scored 13.666 points. But after the time limit was over, the decision was suddenly changed and the American gymnast was declared the winner by giving her 13.766 points. After the Romanian team protested and after listening to both the sides, CAS intervened and ordered the bronze medal to be returned to the Romanian player.
