It is reported that the image of Sheikh Mujiburahman, the founder of Bangladesh and the one who gave independence to Bangladesh, is being removed from the notes. The Central Bank of Bangladesh is printing banknotes of 20, 100, 500 and 1,000 taka on the instructions of the interim government. These notes are being printed on the instructions of the interim government. The Tribune newspaper quoted the bank as saying, "The new notes will not have the picture of 'Bangabandhu' Sheikh Mujiburahman." Sheikh Mujiburahman is called the father of the nation of Bangladesh, because he gave independence to Bangladesh by fighting with Pakistan in 1971.

The central bank said that the Bangladeshi note will now have pictures of religious structures, buildings, Bengali traditions and pictures prepared during the July uprising in place of Sheikh Mujiburahman's picture. Bangladesh Bank Executive Director Husnera Shikha said, "I hope that the new note can be released in the market within the next six months."
According to the newspaper, bank and finance ministry officials said the leader's image would be removed from the existing notes. They said initially, the design of four notes is being changed, and others will be redesigned in phases.
