According to a report by The Daily Star, Lakshmipur Union Parishad president Salim Khan and his actor son Shanto Khan (Shanto Khan Bangladesh) were beaten to death in Chandpur. As soon as the news of Hasina's resignation spread, Salim and his son fled from their village to Farakkabad market in Balia Union. When people tried to stop them, they opened fire and managed to escape. When they reached the nearby Bagrabazar area, an angry mob caught them and beat them to death. Chandpur Sadar Police Station in-charge Sheikh Mohsin Alam confirmed the case.
