When Shah Rukh Khan could not succeed in his genre films, he took a break of 4 years and then in 2023 he made a bang on the screen with the action film 'Pathan'. Then he created a stir at the box office with 'Jawaan'. Both his films are included in the list of 10 highest grossing films of India today. The era of action films that started after Covid is still going on and nowadays all the heroes are running after it. Now Varun Dhawan's name has also been included in this race.
Varun Dhawan's action-packed film 'Baby John', produced under Jio Studios, Cine1 Studios, Vipin Agnihotri Films and A For Apple Productions, has been released in theaters today (25 December 2024). Although it is a Bollywood film, the South film industry has a huge hand in making this film. The writer of this film is South's famous director Atlee. The director of the film is also from the South, whose name is Kalees and he has also supported Atlee in writing the story and the biggest thing is that this entire film is a remake of the South's superhit film 'Theri', which was directed by Atlee himself, in which Vijay was in the lead role and in 'Baby John' you will see Varun Dhawan in the role of Vijay. South's famous actress Keerthy Suresh is also with Varun in this film, for whom this is also the first Bollywood film.
If you have seen this film in Tamil, then your interest might reduce a bit, but those who are watching this film for the first time will like the story of the film as well as the new avatar of Varun Dhawan. Varun has done a wonderful job in the film, but it would not be wrong to say that Suresh Kirthi has also added to the beauty of the film with his work. So, first of all, let us tell you about the story of the film.
In the film, Varun Dhawan is playing the role of DCP Satya Verma (IPS), who is living his life happily in Kerala with his daughter Khushi Verma. He is running a bakery shop in Kerala forgetting his past, but one day his past knocks on his present and then the real game begins. Actually, Jackie Shroff in the role of Nana in the film is a dreaded villain and he trafficks innocent girls, from whose clutches Satya is successful in saving those innocent girls and then Nana goes after Satya and his daughter with all his might. To know what happens after that, you will have to go to the cinema and watch the entire film.
By the way, along with action, a combo of emotions will also be seen in the film. Talking about acting, the pairing of Keerti Suresh with Varun Dhawan was very good. Both have performed brilliantly. Also, you will like the acting of Zara Jiana, she has played the character of Khushi Verma in the film. Jackie Shroff's look is definitely strong, but his dialogues needed a little more work. Rajpal Yadav is also in the film, who will also be seen giving you a dose of laughter in between.
At the same time, Kalees has also done a great job in direction. He has worked on even the smallest things with great precision. The cinematography of the film is worth watching, but the music of the film is a bit disappointing. There is no doubt that the background of the South is great, but the songs of the film will definitely disappoint music lovers. The first half of the film is a bit slow, due to which you may feel a bit bored, but as soon as the second half comes, the film picks up pace. Overall, you can watch this film with your entire family. 3 stars for the film from me.
