BSA Goldstar 650: Mahindra Group-owned iconic motorcycle brand BSA on Thursday made its India debut with the launch of the 652 cc Gold Star 650 model priced at Rs 2.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Birmingham Small Arms Company (BSA), one of the oldest motorcycle companies in the world, was acquired by Mahindra Group's premium motorcycle arm Classic Legends in 2016. Classic Legends sells Jawa and Yezdi motorcycles in the country.

The BSA Gold Star 650 made a comeback in the UK in 2021, currently being sold in Europe, Turkey, New Zealand, and the Philippines. Mahindra Group Chairman Anand Mahindra said on the occasion, "Bringing BSA to India is like sharing a part of world motorcycling history with India. The indomitable spirit of BSA, a brand built in the fire of war, is embodied in the new Gold Star." The company said that the BSA brand will soon enter the US, Australia, and Japan markets as well.

The company has given a 4-valve, DOHC single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine of 652 cc capacity in the bike. It generates 45bhp power and 55Nm torque. It has a 5-speed gearbox. This bike is capable of running at a speed of 160 km/h. The bike has telescopic fork suspension in the front and a twin shock observer in the rear. This bike is available for sale at the company's authorized dealership and its booking has started. This bike, which comes with a retro-modern design, competes directly with Royal Enfield's Shotgun, whose price starts at Rs 3.59 lakh.
