It's been days since bharta janatha party's Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg stated that all the developed countries of the world have been losing democratic elections since the outbreak of Covid-19, claiming that even India had to replace the current governments but the indian parliament is taking measures to disregard the remark.
According to Mr Nishi Kant Durba, who also happens to be a BJP MP ; He formerly promised to issue notice to Meta alongside demanding an apology from the elated Indian parliament on behalf of the company's agents.
“Every democratic nation has the right to present itself in the best possible way," - said Nishi Kant during his keynote speech ,who also added, “India never asked them to put out that information in the first place”.
Later in a seminar, Nishi, emphasized on the fact that himself alongside certain members of parliament came to the conclusion on how they wanted Meta's officials to be removed from the country because of Unlawful statement assets made to get their message across the Indian population.
“This statement by Mark Zuckerberg is something that should alert all of us, as it is evident that Mark Zuckerberg is meddling in the democracy of the country and is spreading false information to the world that BJP-NDA has lost,” he offered.
“We have made up our minds that Meta will be summoned. The leaders of the company will be needing to show humility or the committee will commence actions. We shall address the committee members and from 20th January to 24th January we will invite them to attend,” the BJP MP stated.
Zuckerberg made this comment during an episode of Joe Rogan Experience: I Think We’re Alone Now.
“A lot of people in the United States focus on this as an American phenomenon, but I kind of think that the reaction to Covid probably caused a breakdown and trust in a lot of governments around the world, because 2024 was a big election year around the globe. And you know there are all these countries, India, just like a ton of countries that had elections and the incumbents. The governance had a major overhaul, practically lost every single one of them.” Zuckerberg said on the podcast.
In an article that has appeared on Forbes, Zuckerberg is cited to claim that he would be relacing the fact checkers at Meta with “community notes”, which are notes that users on the social media platform X employ to identify posts that they feel contain incorrect information.
This statement, according to Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw was fact-checked and starred the tech entrepreneurs commentary as “misinformation" and advocated for the virtue of facts.
