After the crushing defeat in the Maharashtra assembly elections, infighting has started in the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). Karnataka Home Minister and Congress in-charge in Maharashtra elections G. Parameshwar blamed the lack of cooperation among alliance partners for the party's humiliating defeat. Parameshwar said that the Congress did not fully support the Shiv Sena (UBT) on many seats and the attitude of Uddhav Thackeray's party was also the same. He said that the same was seen with the NCP (Sharad Pawar faction) as well.
Speaking to the media, Parmeshwar said, 'In many places, we did not work for them, but they did not work for us. When we are in alliance, we have to support Shiv Sena candidates and Shiv Sena should support our candidates. The same problem happened with Sharad Pawar's party as well.'
MVA disappointed with Maharashtra result!
Let us remind you that the results of the Maharashtra elections that came yesterday were disappointing for the Congress, Sharad Pawar's NCP (SP),, and Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena (UBT) alliance. Here the Mahavikas Aghadi alliance won only 49 seats. Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena won 20 seats, while Congress managed to get only 16 seats. At the same time, Sharad Pawar's NCP got 10 seats.
What did Parmeshwar say about Congress's seats?
Regarding these election results, Parmeshwar said that Congress was expected to win more seats. He said, 'Congress should have won more seats in Vidarbha. We were expecting to win more than 50 seats there, but we could win only 8 seats. Out of 105 seats, we were expecting to win 60-70 seats, but we could not perform as expected.'
The Congress leader also blamed the electronic voting machines, reiterating claims made by other Mahayuti leaders. "What we have discussed among our leaders is that in our country, as long as we have EVMs, it will be very difficult for the Congress or any other party to come to power. They (BJP) are experts in hacking EVMs, they manipulate them wherever they want," Parameshwara said.
